about
Falling Thru Life was originally written as part of the soundtrack for the independent film 3 or 4 Things I Know About Her by Chuck Bentley. The original arrangement was a rather big production with piano, strings, saxophone, etc. A couple of years later Courtney said that we should do the song as an acoustic guitar/vocal for live performance. I didn't think it would work. I was wrong. I think this is the arrangement the song needed all along.
lyrics
Passing cars, shooting stars
Do you know where I’m going to
Bag in hand, the promised land
Seems so far away from me now
And I, I‘m falling thru life
Just trying to get it right
Is there a secret to time
That I‘ll find, falling thru life
A fall from grace I can‘t erase
It‘s a part of this empty space
I‘m reaching out, I‘m calling out
I‘m losing ground in this human race
And I, I‘m falling thru life
Just trying to get it right
Is there a secret to time
That I‘ll find, falling thru life
Shooting stars, passing cars
Do you know where I‘m coming from
A promised land, the dreams I had
Seem so far away from me now
And I, I‘m falling thru life
Just trying to get it right
Is there a secret to time
That I‘ll find, falling thru life
